A Taste of the Holidays (Part 2)

June 2024 · 2 minute read

Listen to enough holiday music and you’re bound to get hungry. Whether it’s the collard greens from Run DMC’s “Christmas in Hollis”, roasted chestnuts from “The Christmas Song”, or latkes from “Oh Hanukkah”, food is an essential part of the experience. Last week, we began our brief tour of favorite holiday treats at Walt Disney World. This week, we thought we’d shine a spotlight on a few more.

1. Strawberry Mint Verrine At Hollywood Studios

Stop by Fairfax Fare in Hollywood Studios for a Strawberry Mint Verrine, a special dessert available as part of the Flurry of Fun holiday celebration. The dish consists of marinated strawberries in a peppermint creme topped with chocolate pearls. The entire thing sits atop a bed of shortbread. It’s a bright and refreshing dessert which costs $4.99 or one snack credit if you’re on a Disney dining plan.

2. Crespelle di Mele at Epcot

We tried the crespelle di mele on a particularly cold night at Epcot, and it was the perfect dessert for warming up. Located at the Tuscany Holiday Kitchen, the crespelle di mele is made up of cinnamon apple fritters, a vanilla sauce drizzle, and a chocolate caramel sauce. You get two fritters, and the snack costs $8.00, but is Disney Dining Plan eligible as a snack credit.

3. Cookie Butter Milkshake at the Magic Kingdom

The cookie butter milkshake is available at Auntie Gravity’s in Tomorrowland. It looks as out of this world as you would expect from a Tomorrowland dessert. Made of cookie butter ice cream, the milkshake is topped with cotton candy, and a Mickey Mouse marshmallow on a candy cane striped straw. It costs $7.99 (or a snack credit) and is as fun to look at as it is delicious.

4. Maple Bûche de Noël at Epcot

There’s no more iconic Christmas food than a Bûche de Noël (a yule log). This beauty is available at the Yukon Holiday Kitchen. It’s a maple mousse in a gingerbread chiffon cake, with a cranberry sauce and a pecan crumble. As with the other treats, this is available for a snack credit. Without the dining plan it costs $4.50.
