Earlier this week news broke that Hollywood superstar George Clooney and his fiancé, Britain based human rights lawyer, Amal Alamuddin, had gotten their marriage license from the Chelsea Town Hall in London; by law the marriage license must be posted in public for 16 days before the two are allowed to wed.  The couple met last September through  mutual friends at a charity function and at first Alamuddin refused to take Clooney’s number.  Unwilling to give up Clooney e-mailed the lawyer and said, “I think the reported hottest man in the world should meet the hottest human rights lawyer in the world;” the couple accounted their engagement in April, after seven months of dating.  Those close to the couple say that the two share a wonderful relationship and this is the best relationship they have seen Clooney in.

The couple is planning a fall wedding which will take place in Italy on September 20 – approximately a year after their first meeting. Amongst the the intimate guest list is Vogue Magazine’s editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, and  a source has stated that “she wouldn’t go there and not cover it.”  Coverage of the Clooney wedding in Vogue will catapult him and his bride-to-be to a new level of celebrity couple super stardom, adding them to the elite list of celebrity weddings covered by the magazine; a list that includes Kim Kardashian and Kanye West who were also married in Italy.

While sources have said that Clooney and Alamuddin are planning a small and private wedding small certainly does not mean inexpensive as Clooney has reportedly rented an island for the celebration.  The couples outfits have not yet been set in stone but in true celebrity – and Vogue – fashion they are both rumored to be wearing garments from expensive designers; Clooney and his groomsmen will probably be seen in exclusive Giorgio Armani suits while Alamuddin will most likely be wearing a dress made by close friend, Oscar de la Renta.

To ensure his privacy, Clooney has made that laws are set in place so that anyone who who loiters, stops, or swims near his Lake Como home will receive a hefty fine until September 30; 10 days after the couple is scheduled to wed.
